Who are the Dunnville Bassmasters

   Minimize

The Dunnville Bassmasters is a local, non-profit bass fishing club. The club was formed to engage in competitive bass fishing among our members for the purpose of sharing knowledge about the sport, sportsmanship, and fair play on and off the water.

We compete for fun and to improve our skill as bass anglers. The club has both novice and experienced anglers of all ages. All members are willing to help each other and share their knowledge and experience with you.

You will always have someone to fish with; you will have an opportunity to share what the sport has given you with others and promote the sport of bass fishing.

Payouts are awarded after each tournament for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes plus a payout for big bass. The top anglers, based on their accumulated points for the season, are awarded trophies at our annual banquet in the spring.

“B.A.S.S is the Founder and Pioneer of tournament fishing and sets the standards by which all others follow.”

Forty years of experience and investment has made B.A.S.S. the unchallenged leader in tournament fishing. Everything from the best way to maintain the health of captive fish to etiquette on the water was developed through years of experience and research.

The Federation Nation is the largest grassroots organization in the world and the Bassmaster clubs provide an environment of camaraderie, structure, and respect for the environment.  Dunnville Bassmasters Care!  Conservation, Community, Youth

Bass populations across Ontario are healthier than ever. This is in no small part due to our  federation members, who each year roll up their sleeves and get to work helping to clean our shores, create fish habitat, assists the MNR in tagging, and an array of other initiatives that inch by inch help to improve the condition of our lakes, streams and rivers.

Catch and release is a common practice amongst our club members, whether fishing for fun or during an event fish care is an important aspect of fishing.

The Bassmasters have been involved with Haldimand Norfolk Big Brothers & Big Sisters, Grand River Conservation Authority and other local organizations.

Spending a few hours to help the environment or to make a child smile is well worth the time.

Our federation members also have another common interest, tournament fishing. These weekend anglers enjoy fishing small club events as either a boater or non boater. Each year we send competitors to the provincial qualifier tournament on the last weekend of August.

Here Bassmaster club members from across Ontario compete for the top 12 positions that will make up Team Ontario. These anglers will compete against nine other state teams in the Eastern Divisional Tournament each September.

The top individual from each team advances to the BASS Federation National Championship. At this tournament the contenders compete against all others and against the other contenders in their division. The top individual from each division advances to the Bassmasters Classic.
